Kitchen Remodeling Jobs

This is an excellent example of an out-dated, problematic kitchen and the creative solutions our design team came up with to give it both an updated, beautiful new look and much greater functionality. The original design of the kitchen was a typical condo unit with laminate countertops and cabinetry. Storage space was lacking & inefficient, and the sink faced a wall.

To remedy these problems, our designer moved the sink to a new location on the free-standing part of the counter, allowing for the addition of more cabinet space on the wall where the sink used to be. Part of the counter next to the entry door was shortened, making room for a new floor-to-ceiling pantry. The cabinets were also re-configured around the refrigerator to increase usable storage space, and one of the floor cabinets next to the new sink was replaced by a stack of large drawers.

The homeowners selected a raised-panel door style in Mocha Maple and Blue Pearl granite countertops. Three day install

Built-in Cabinetry Jobs

The homeowners wanted to update the fourteen-year-old pickled maple cabinets as well as change a knee wall into a piece of custom built-in cabinetry. The new kitchen cabinets on the outside perimeter, including the refrigerator, were recrafted in Classic II Natural Maple with a black glaze and topped with crown moulding. The island cabinets were recrafted in Classic II Ebony Maple. New Granite countertops were added to complete the sleek new look.

The entire project took less than a week to install.

This is a good example of what might be called a "hybrid" remodeling job. The existing cabinets that needed no reconfiguration were re-crafted with all hardwood parts, and the new parts (eg, the refrigerator cabinet and the new built-in cabinetry) were custom-built in our Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. All components were made at the same time, thus everything matched perfectly.

The original kitchen included oak cabinets that had been stained by the homeowner, laminate "wood" countertops, and an over-mount sink. For this new re-crafting project, the homeowner chose Full-Overlay Flat-Panel doors and drawer fronts in Cherry with a Fruitwood Stain. The old drawer boxes were replaced with new solid hardwood drawer boxes with continuous dove-tail joints.

Solid granite countertops in the Juparana Persa color were chosen to replace the laminate, along with a stainless steel undermount sink. New hardware was also supplied. Installation of the job took 2 days.

Often, the original layout of a kitchen can present major design flaws which need to be addressed. In this case, one of the original drawers in the L-shaped cabinet ran into a stove handle, making the drawer practically unusable. Signature WoodCrafters devised a unique and highly innovative solution to the problem. Take a look at the slide show to see what happened!

This kitchen is in a 4-5 year old home. The new homeowner had previously replaced the countertops with granite and had the island countertop extended to create a breakfast bar. She was not happy with the natural maple color or door style of the existing cabinets and wanted something more formal.

Signature Woodcrafters recrafted the cabinets with full-overlay raised-panel doors in medium-tone maple with black glazing. To the tops of the cabinets, we added tall crown molding with a black rope inset to coordinate with the glazing. The homeowner also replaced her stainless refrigerator with a new black refrigerator to which custom raised panels were attached to match the cabinetry. All exposed cabinet ends were also covered with raised panels, adding to the overall finished look.

The new island area was finished with matching solid raised panels on the sides and beaded paneling and corbels on the back, creating a finished furniture look.

The original kitchen was 14 years old with standard flat panel oak cabinets, white laminate countertops, and an over-mount sink. The layout of the kitchen remained the same. The only additional change was a new built-in buffet with wall-mounted hutch where a butler's rack had stood before.

The homeowners chose a Classic II Raised Panel door style in Natural Maple with a brown glaze. Beaded crown moulding was applied to the tops, and decorative raised panels were added to the exposed ends, replacing the faded veneer of the original. Baltic Brown granite was selected for the countertops with a new under-mount sink. The old drawer boxes were also replaced with new solid hardwood boxes, including new under-mount Blum-Motion slides.

The existing kitchen in this house had the type of traditional white particle-board cabinets that are often sold at Home Depot or Lowe's.

Signature WoodCrafters dramatically changed the look of the kitchen and enhanced the value of the home by recrafting the kitchen with Classic II flat-panel doors and drawer fronts in solid oak. The countertops were also replaced with new Corian countertops, custom manufactured by Signature Companies.
